Savannah, the city iteself, is so beautiful, with its beautiful architecture and unique city grid setup, some consider it a work of art. Beyond those aspects of the city you will also have plenty of options and opportunities to soak up some arts and culture in Savannah.
The Telfair Museum is one of the nation's oldest public meseums and is complimented now by a new complex on Telfair Square.
The Telfair Museum is in the heart of Savannah's Historic District and other museums including the historic King-Tisdell Cottage, the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum and the birthplace of Girls Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low are just a short walk away.
Savannah is also scattered with art galleries and antique shops. It is hard walking down even one block in the Historic District without passing one.
Just a short drive outside of the Savannah downtown area you will be able to track the 19th century battles at Old Fort Jackson, Fort Screven, and Fort Pulaski. You will also be able to relive colonial days at the Wormsloe Historic Site. Lastly, you can see how aviation evolved by visiting the Mighty Eight Air Force Museum.
